The acquiring of the Mega-Stage business, located in SaintJean-sur-Richelieu, QC by local shareholders, was confirmed today by Stephane Vezina, majority shareholder and new CEO during a staff meeting. Vezina also unveiled the society’s new name, which will now be called Mega, to better reflect the company’s new position, he says.
“The acquisition of Mega-Stage was the opportunity to think about the new direction we want to give the business. We want to keep contributing to the success of businesses and professionals within the entertainment industry, but we’d like to do it in a different way,” says Vezina.
The company says its mission is to contribute to the success of companies and professionals of the entertainment industry by offering them innovative solutions as well as exclusive scenic equipment for their large and small events. “The values of respect, innovation, of the working together and security will be at the heart of our mission,” says Vezina.
The five shareholders acquiring Mega-Stage today are long-time company contributors. Vezina himself spent nearly 30 years there, at first as project manager, and then as VP of sales and operations, allowing him to ensure continuity for current customers. The transaction equals sixty-five feet of equipment stage, including: walkways, scaffolding and steel scaffolding.
The team’s expertise developed through the years, as well as their knowledge of the environment will be put to good use to seek new customers. “We want to give each event the attention it deserves,” adds Vezina. He says that by positioning itself as the expert for large and small events, Mega wants to contribute to the success of businesses, no matter their size.
With this deal, shareholders Stephane Vezina, Benoit Langlois, Alexandre Robichaud, David Lussier and Jean-Philippe Provost hope to consolidate the society’s offer of service and increase its presence in Quebec and Ontario. Thus, Mega will now focus on renting staging equipment. More than 300 companies and entertainment professionals use Mega every year for the rental of stages, bleachers, scaffolding, risers, trusses and event structures.
Former Mega-Stage President Stephane Berger will now focus on Deck TO/GO, his staging rental company and manufacturer.
