SMPTE Announces 2018 Section Election Results

The Local Sections of SMPTE have announced the results of the 2018 section elections.

All Associate, Professional, Executive, Fellow, Life, and Honorary SMPTE Members were eligible to vote for the positions of chair, secretary/treasurer, and manager. The Society will hold elections for its board of governors beginning Aug. 20, 2018. Further information about SMPTE is available at www.smpte.org.

The SMPTE Poland Section had the highest percentage of voter participation in 2018, with 51.16% of section members participating in the elections.

The Election Integrity Committee met on 7 May 2018 to verify the results of the 2018 SMPTE Section Elections.

The Canadian section results are:

Montréal/ Québec Section
Chair for a one-year term of July 1, 2018–June 30, 2019 is Daniel Guévin of CBC/Radio-Canada

Secretary/Treasurer for a one-year term of July 1, 2018–June 30, 2019 is François Bourdua of VS-TEK, Strategies & Technololgies

Managers for a two-year term of July 1, 2018–June 30, 2020 are:

Ottawa Subsection
