Dedo Weigert To Host Educational Events in Toronto, Montreal

Dedo Canada, in association with Dedo Weigert Film GmbH will be presenting a series of educational events in Toronto on April 22 and 23 and Montreal on April 25 that will be hosted by Dedo Weigert himself.

The first event on April 22, which will include at presentation seminar, workshop, and competition, will be held at Dan Lim Photography Studio. Presented by Dedo Weigert, the focus will be on aspects of television, film, and still photography lighting.

The second event on April 23 will be held at the Trebas Institute. Also presented by Weigert, this workshop is based on the concept of the portable studio and is targeted at small video production working outside a studio environment. This will be followed by a hands-on lighting competition designed to be both fun and informative with prizes to awarded for the best creative lighting solutions.

Also based Portable Studio concept, the Montreal workshop will offer an active, on-camera demonstration of interview lighting for television, film, and still photography applications. Its primary audience is the small video production team working outside a controlled studio environment in ENG and EFP situations.

The workshop will include live demonstrations of practical lighting solutions. Using portable fixtures, Weigert will start with a tungsten version of a lighting set-up, followed by what might be referred to as the “daylight cheat,” and then the technique of modifying colour temperature where there is a mixture of daylight and/or fluorescent light. Portable daylight solutions will then be discussed, followed by multi-LED panels and focusing LED lights. Finally, a few short videos will demonstrate mixed lighting solutions that cannot be simulated in the workshop venue.
