Drifter Rigging Opens in Toronto

06 Mark DeslogesProduction veteran Mark “Drifter” Desloges has launched Drifter Rigging in Toronto. The company’s aim is to offer the Canadian market access to the most widely used automation products for mid- to higher-range productions.

The company’s first formal job was the extensive automation for the 2017 Calgary Stampede Grandstand stage, featuring Drifter Rigging’s Elevation 1+ variable speed chain hoists and Libra load cells. Additionally, in early July, Drifter Rigging and Kinesys USA hosted a Demo Day at Christie Lites’ Toronto location that featured the first North American deployment of Kinesys’ brand new Apex system.

06 Drifter rigging“We’re proud to have Drifter Rigging as our first and only Canadian customer, offering Kinesys products for rental and show services. High production values are in demand in Canada, safety concerns are paramount, and creative drive is consistent and constant. This interest in programmable chain hoist control, integrated load cells and other movement elements is a very positive sign. This is the start of a new chapter in automation for Canadian productions,” says David Bond, VP of Kinesys USA.
