Q One Hosting Technology Showcase at New HQ This Week

Q One Show Technologies, a Winnipeg-based full-service provider of lighting, audio, video, and staging to the event and entertainment Industry, has announced that it will celebrate its recent move by hosting a new technologies showcase and educational event at its new headquarters on Thursday, Nov. 8th and Friday, Nov. 9th.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days. The company’s new address where it’ll host the event is 895 Jarvis Ave. in Winnipeg. Refreshments will be served and wine bar will be open at 5 p.m. on both days.

The event is an opportunity to get hands-on with some of the latest technology from leading manufacturers of lighting, audio, and video equipment. Q One will be featuring the newly-released grandMA3 lighting console, the L-Acoustics Kara Compact Line Array and the Robe Tarrantula and BMFL, in addition to many other products. There will also be opportunities for some one-on-one demonstrations, questions, and training.

Q One has also scheduled presentations from two acclaimed lighting designers with extensive history in the art of concert, film, and television lighting.

On the Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. and Nov. 9 at 4 p.m., Jeff Ravitz, a highly-regarded TV lighting designer and also Bruce Springsteen’s long-time LD, will give a presentation entitled “You Can Teach an Old Dog New Tricks.

As well, on Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. and Nov. 9 at 2 p.m., Keith Woods, a seasoned rigging gaffer and lighting designed based in Vancouver, will give a presentation entitled “What Are These Theatre Lights Doing on My Film Set?”
