Denis Lefrançois, CEO and majority shareholder of SHOWSDT, is acquiring Artotech Integration and Joel Theatrical. The company says this will bring together major players of the show business industry, protect Canadian talents, and add resilience to all three organizations while providing them with the necessary momentum to achieve success abroad.
“This acquisition is geared towards continuity. I want us to combine our industry strengths to help local talent shine and secure a desirable position on the global scene. I wish to welcome my partners and thank them for their precious collaboration,” says Lefrançois.
This announcement comes just as the Montreal businessman celebrates a 45-year career milestone in the show business industry, working within companies specialized in sound, lighting, video and now, stage equipment.
Lefrançois proceeded with these two acquisitions a few weeks ago, and wished to highlight a 40-year career in the industry by Marc Bonin, who will now act as GM for Artotech Integration and as VP for Joel Theatrical Rigging. Bonin personally headed this transaction and will maintain his position in the company for years to come.
The intent of these acquisitions is to preserve local talents and to combine the complementary strengths of all organizations. Synergy between the companies will provide the Canadian entrepreneur with an advantageous position in a changing industry, he says. To date, in addition to a joint venture with the FICC (Fonds d’investissement en culture et communication) in SHOWSDT, Lefrançois owns Niscon, a company specialized in design, engineering and control software.
