Solotech Appoints Jim Steele as GM of Toronto & Ottawa Offices

Solotech has announced the appointment of Jim Steele as general manager of the company’s Toronto and Ottawa offices as of October 28, 2019. The announcement was made by Martin Tremblay, president and CEO of Solotech.

Solotech says the addition of a GM to head the company’s Ontario offices will support its growth in this high-potential region.

Under the shared responsibility of Martin Chouinard, president of the Live Productions Division for Canada, and Philip Giffard, president of the Sales and Systems Integration Division, Steele will oversee the efficiency of Solotech’s Ontario operations and sales. He will also ensure the development of new business opportunities while fostering synergies between the two divisions of the company, according to Solotech.

Drawing on over 20 years of experience in the production of live stage events, Steele is recognized for his work in various executive positions at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) and the Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall. The company says he brings with him an excellent reputation in the sports venue and live events markets. Steele holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts, Photographic Arts, from Ryerson University in Toronto.

“Steele’s proven vision and leadership make him an exceptional asset for our company. We are all looking forward to benefiting from his in-depth knowledge of the Ontario business community and his vast expertise in live events production,” says Tremblay.
