Sounds Distribution has announced it is now the Canadian distributor for Le Maitre, LDR, and VMB products. All three distribution agreements are currently in effect.

Sounds Distribution President Rohan Persaud told PL&P that his company approached Le Matire because its smoke and haze machines would help them reach a larger market. “We would get a sale and that part of it we couldn’t offer because the [smoke and haze] machines we had were not at that level. We started to look around and had discussion with a few people and, from customers advising us and so on, we decided to approach Le Maitre and it went well. It took a little negotiating, as usual, but Le Maitre is recognized in the industry as one of the top brands for smoke machines and hazers. It’s made in the U.K. and very high quality.”

About LDR’s lighting products, Persaud told PL&P, “We’ve been experiencing great growth over the last five years in the production rental market. Based on inquiries from our customers looking for LDR theatrical products and followspot units that they can use on their stage shows, I came across LDR, which is 100 per cent made in Italy. We found that to be a great fit at a good price and a great product and that fit the bill for what our customers were asking for.”

Persaud adds, “On VMB, because we do a lot of sales with aluminum truss and also with line array speakers from RCF, we needed to have something that would facilitate and add to the sales of those products; Global Truss and RCF. One for lifting the truss and one for lifting the line array systems. So, VMB being made in Spain, again, high quality, good pricing, and we thought it was a good fit for us.”
